Google - Search secrets you must know By Spear Fox

Using Google to search anything in the world wide web is quite amazing, have you ever wondered how to trick Google to search according to your set of search criteria. Google's search options is more than just keywords. Read this blog to know more about the search secrets (or) searching techniques I would rather call it to be.

1.) If you think you know the title of the page you are searching, then just add 'intitle' to your search keyword.
Eg: intitle:"Spear Fox" would restrict your google search results limited to pages which has title Spear Fox.

2.) To find only for the keywords you know in webpage ignoring the page titles, links and so forth, try using 'intext'.
Eg: intext:"Spear Fox Technologies" does opposite of 'intitle'.

3.) 'Link': lets you to search for pages that are linking to your web page or to another webpage that is linked to it.
Eg: link:"https://twitter.com" searches for all webpages linked to your site.

4.) Eager to know what your website contains (or) do you want to restrict the search within a website (or) restrict your search to top level domain, go for 'site'.
Eg: site:"http://spearfox.xyz" finds out what your website contains
Eg: site:"xyz" lists all website which ends with .xyz

5.) Do you want to find related web pages, try using 'related' keyword along with your search keyword
Eg: related:http://www.facebook.com provides you all the related websites

6.) If you start your query with phonebook:, Google shows all U.S. White Page listings for the query terms you specify.
Eg: phonebook: Spear Fox Technologies will show the phonebook listing of Spear Fox Technologies.
Try bphonebook: and rphonebook: - to list business and residential phone details registered in White Page

7.) Interested in Stocks ? To know the performance of your favorite company in the Stock market, try using 'stock'
Eg: stocks:Google will display the stock market details of google

8.) To know the meaning of any word, try using 'define' to get the meaning (or) definition of the term
Eg: define:hello will provide you with the definition of hello

9.) Food lovers here is a beautiful trick to choose between your food options, try using 'vs' between any two food
Eg: food:pizza vs broccoli will list out all the topics related to Pizza and Broccoli.

10.) To know the flight status of your beloved person's travel destination, simply type the flight number in google search
Eg: IndiGo Flight 502 will display the flight status of Indico 502

11.) Want to go out, but afraid of the weather in your city, try using 'weather' followed by your location to know much more about your city's weather
Eg: weather Chennai will display Chennai's weather information

12.) Don't have a calculator, but connected to internet. Then never worry try entering the arthimetic equation in google.
Eg: 10 * 8 (or) simply type 'calculator' will open google's calculator

13.) Search for documents of specific types (or) with a known extension, using 'filetype'
Eg: "Programming in C" filetype:doc will suggest all related documents

14.) Regular news reader ? wanted to know about your location related news ? try 'location' to filter the results
Eg: Headlines location:chennai will show all headlines related to Chennai
This also works in case to filter your search results for any keyword with location, try
Eg: Spear Fox location: chennai

15.) Do like to know the current time in any part of the globe, try 'time'.
Eg: time: Chennai will show the current time in Chennai.

16.) To know the value of any foreign currency to your local currency, try using 'currency' in google search.
Eg: Currency: INR to YEN

17.) You can also do a wildcard search, in case its a 3 words keyword and you dont remember the 3rd word you can simply use '*'
Eg: "Spear fox *"

18.) Are you a movie buff ? to check out where your favorite movie is shown, simply use 'movie'
Eg: movie: iru mugan will display show times in your location.

19.) To know the address of any specific business location, try using 'address'
Eg: address: Spear Fox Technologies will display the registered address.

20.) Do you have zip code information and not aware of the area it belongs to ? type the zipcode in search
Eg: 600068 will show you the area covered under this zipcode.
